The Royal Palace: Popularly known as Leh Palace, it was built around 1631 by King Sengge Namgyal and is a beautiful example of Tibetan architecture. The palace was occupied by the Royal family for ages and currently is occupied by the Indian Government’s archaeological conservation organization.
Leh Monastery and Gompa: Leh and Ladakh collectively have some of the oldest Buddhist monasteries or gompas. Some of the monasteries, Chemrey, Hemis and Phiyang, were built by the patronage of the members of the Namgyal dynasty.
Leh Mosque: Leh Mosque stands amides the main market as an elegant and exquisite example of Turko-Iranian architecture since 1666-67 A.D. Built with an agreement between the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb and King Deldan Namgyal, the mosque is Only Open to Males.
