Not just this it is also well-known for its beautifully carved monuments which depict cultural heritage and architectural designs of early periods. It is the known headquater of India’s best silk saree. In addition to this, this city of Kanchipuram has given shelter to a number of scholars. Kamakshi Amman Temple: Goddess Kamakshi, who is the Goddess of Shakti is worshipped here and is the center of all spiritual movements in Kanchipuram .The key tower over the temple’s chamber is gold plated and implicates the Golden Chariot present in this temple which demonstrated throughout the temple on Friday Evenings. An Art Gallery which portray image of the history of the Shankara Mutt and Sri Adishankaracharya is also there.
Kailashanathar Temple: This ancient temple, constructed by the Pallava king Rajasimha Pallava is devoted to Lord Shiva. This temple showcases the optimum instance of South Indian Pallava architecture.

Ekambareshwar Temple: This huge historic temple, devoted to Lord Shiva , was built in the period of Vijaynagar Empire. This ancient temple has many shrines, Gopurams, Mandapams and Tanks.
Kumara Kottam: This temple is situated between Ekambareshwar and Kamakshi temples which have two Prakarams with a whole pantheon of Parivara Devatas. The chamber has Muruga in a sitting pose who assumed “Brahma Chattam” where his upper hand clasp rosary,right arm in abaya pose,and the lower arm which rests on the thigh is posing Katyavailambita with the left arm holding the Kamandalam.
Varadaraja Temple: Auspicious temple of Sri Vaishnavites is also famous as Hastigiri or Attiyuran. This temple has a wonderful history of Sri Ramanuja, who served here.
Ulahalanda Perumal Temple: This ancient temple of Kanchipuram shelters the idol of Ulahalanda Perumal who symbolizes ‘Vaman Roopam’, an embodiment of Lord Vishnu.
In addition to these temples, one can also give a visit to Kanchipuram for its fests which are observed in different months of the year.
