Botanical garden:
Udhamandalam or Ooty is at a height of 2268 meters above sea level. The misty Nilgiris and the scented rainforests with hill resorts Conoor and Kotagiri makes this place attractive . Set up in 1847 by marquis of tweeddale , botanical gardens are a main attraction. Events like dog show and Ooty flower show occur annually. One can also go for trout fishing at Avalanche, other notable places are Lamb’s rock ,Doddabetta, Pykara lake.
Mudumalai wildlife sanctuary:
Located 67 kms from Coimbatore this sanctuary houses a diversity of animals like elephants,tigers, leopards, birds etc. Elephant rides form the major crowd-puller.

Kodaikanal:
This popular hill station embraces thick greenery, waterfalls and cool air. The place blossoms with kurinji flower that blooms once in every 12 years. An orchidium with around 300 types of orchids is present. Other famous places areSilver Cascade, the Bear shola fall , Kodai lake, Coalker’s walk and Kukkai cave.
Top slip:
This pleasing milieu in Anamalai hills is around 37 kms away from Pollachi . Bungalows and tree houses are available.
Parambikulam-aliyar:
This outstanding picnic spot , situated in Anamalai range , comprises of a chain of dams connected by canals and tunnels for binding the Parambikulam ,Nirar, Aliyar , Sholiyar. Thunakadavu, Thekadi and Palar rivers, situated at different heights forpower generation and irrigation .
Anamalai wildlife sanctuary:
Located at a height of 1,400 meters in the Western Ghats this sanctuary safeguards striking animal life like gaur,elephant,panther , tiger, pangolin, sloth bear, green pigeon, civet cat and black headed oriole with Amaravathy reservoir having crocodiles. Other attractive places are Karain Shola,Grass hills, Anaikunthi Shola, estates, waterfalls,teak forests,groves ,,dams and reservoirs.
Thirumurthy dam:
Located at the base of Thirumurthy hills near the Thirumurthy dam, this is 20 kms away from Udumalpet on the Palani-Coimbatore highway.
The Siruvani falls and Dam:
Well-known for the taste of its water Siruvani falls presents a charming landscape with dam.
