We had our Honeymoon in Meghalaya. It is a very good choice indeed. And we found it to be a perfect destination for a honeymoon. I’ll share our experience with all of you.
While travelling from Guwahati, we halted at the Umiam Lake (or Barapani) about 19 km before Shilllong. After spending few hours there, we headed continued our journey to Shillong. Shillong is a normal hill station, but we stay there for the night and we suggest you stay at Roseville.
Next day we took a trip to Cherrapunji and spend a few days there at the Cherra Resort. While being there, we did day walks, hikes and visited caves, waterfalls and living root bridges.
Mairang is also a nice sleepy little town in East Khasi Hills about 45 km from Shillong. It’s a small town with picturesque views, but no tourist accommodation.
Overall it was nice adventurous trip with natural beauty to see all around. It was a wonderful experience for us.
