Mahabodhi Temple: The Mahabodhi temple is located in the temple complex is one of the few sites which have been declared as World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The temple bear a tree and it is believed by the devotees believes to have descended from Heaven and Buddha actually got his enlightenment beneath this tree itself. Earlier taken by Asoka’s daughter, Sanghamitra in the 3rd century B.C, it also shadows a holy red sandstone slab, as Lord Buddha sat on it. Later Asoka built a temple around this temple and this is what we see now as the Mahabodhi Temple. The architecture of 3rd Century B.C done in this temple is really amazing.
