Assam State Zoo- Botanical GardenThe Assam is one of the most beautiful place of India. There is barely any other state which has greater kind and colour in its natural scenes and in the cultural cherishes of the people that live it.

The State Zoo-cum-Botanical Garden of Assam is one of the main attractions of the city of Guwahati. The Assam state zoo has some rare and extinct species of wildlife. Open enclosures house swamp tapirs, tigers, leopards, the famous one-horned rhinos and a rich bird life. There are as some as 277 kinds of birds in the zoo.

The zoo has collected 44 forms of orchids from the northeastern part of India. The zoo also has the African two-horned rhino.

The Assam State Zoo had around an average of 5 lakh visitors in a year. It is apparent that the zoo is one of the most patronized tourists destinations in Guwahati in the Assam.
